Article 50's residential accessory-use standards address garage and yard sales at Sec. 8-5.5001(b): they are "allowed when involving the sale of common household goods, primarily owned by the resident, for a duration not to exceed three days, nor more frequently than two times per year per residence." The limit runs per residence, not per household member, so a property cannot reset the count by rotating which occupant is named as the seller.

On-site signs advertising the sale are permitted without separate review. Off-site signs, meaning directional signs placed away from the sale location, are allowed only under the general sign standards at Sec. 8-5.6306(f). The section places responsibility for cleanup squarely on the seller: if an illegal off-site sign turns up in the vicinity of a garage sale, "the person or persons operating the garage/yard sale at the location indicated on the sign shall be held responsible for the posting of the prohibited sign(s)," regardless of who physically placed it.
