Ridgewood prohibits all signs advertising a nonresidential or home occupation use on residential properties to preserve neighborhood character.
Under Chapter 190, Article X, signs of any kind advertising a nonresidential use of a dwelling are expressly prohibited. There can be no physical evidence of the home business from the exterior. The Village does not allow window signs, yard signs, plaques, or building-mounted signage tied to a permitted home office or family day-care use. Permitted accessory signs apply only to lawfully zoned commercial uses, not home businesses.
Posting any exterior sign, plaque, banner or window display advertising a home occupation, home office, or family day-care business at a residential address.
