Home occupations may not display exterior signage advertising the business under WSMC §17.29 read with §17.30. The home must continue to look like a residence from the street.
Chapter 17.29 sign regulations exempt the home address but prohibit business signs in residential zones except for limited non-illuminated signs allowed by specific zoning categories. Real-estate signs, garage-sale signs, and political signs are separately regulated and exempt from this rule. Vehicle wraps parked in the driveway with limited dimensions are generally allowed.
Signs erected without permits are removed by Code Enforcement and the property owner is billed for abatement.
