The City of Goodyear permits home occupations in residential zones through the Zoning Ordinance. A city business license is required (Section 8-7-2). The business must be secondary to the residential use and must not change the residential character of the property. The Zoning Ordinance defines permitted professional occupations including architects, engineers, doctors, lawyers, and accountants. Other home-based businesses may be permitted subject to conditions. No exterior commercial signage beyond one small wall sign (3 sq ft max). HOAs may impose additional restrictions.
