Palm Bay requires a Business Tax Receipt under Chapter 110 of the Code of Ordinances for all businesses including home-based operations. Home occupation eligibility depends on zoning district. The Growth Management Department verifies zoning classification at (321) 733-3042.
All businesses operating within Palm Bay must obtain a Business Tax Receipt from the Community and Economic Development Department under Chapter 110. Home-based businesses must also verify zoning eligibility with the Growth Management Department's Land Development Division. State-licensed professions require copies of all applicable state licenses. After obtaining the city BTR, operators must also obtain a Brevard County Business Tax Receipt from the County Tax Office.
