Town Code Sec. 14-4 states no person shall allow or permit weeds and grass to grow upon his improved premises within the corporate limits, uncut so as to render the premises unsightly or unhealthy from the growth and accumulation of such grass, weeds and vegetable matter thereon. This sits within Chapter 14, Environment, alongside the town's broader nuisance provisions; Sec. 14-1(2)d separately flags growth of weeds where mosquitoes may harbor or rubbish may be concealed, where residences are less than 500 feet apart, as a declared nuisance.

Enforcement runs through Sec. 14-10: the code enforcement officer, or the town administrator in his absence, is charged with enforcing Chapter 14. A property owner in violation gets a notice of violation directing correction within a reasonable, specified time. 00, with each day the violation continues counted as a separate offense. Sec. 14-10(d) also lets the code enforcement officer have the property cleared at town expense if the owner never complies, with that cost then becoming a lien on the real estate and added to the annual property tax bill, collected the same way as the tax itself.
