Full Breakdown

Municipal Code Section 9.32.410 governs e-bikes on Lakewood park property. Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are prohibited on park paths and trails except those the Director has designated and posted with e-bike signage, and even there they cannot exceed 15 mph. Class 3 e-bikes cannot operate on any park property, path or trail at all. Fuel-powered bicycles, powered scooters and similar motorized vehicles are likewise barred from park property, paths and trails. On city streets rather than parks, e-bike riders instead follow the same rights and duties as other vehicle operators under Chapter 10.51.

Riding a Class 3 e-bike anywhere on park property, or a Class 1/2 e-bike on an undesignated path or above 15 mph, is a Municipal Code violation subject to the general penalty in Section 1.16.020(A).
