Middletown, OH Mobility & Curb Rules: Red-Light Cameras (2026)

The Middletown Code of Ordinances once devoted Chapter 418 of the Traffic Code to an Automated Traffic Control Photographic System, the local authorization for red-light or speed cameras. That chapter no longer exists as operative law: the current code preserves only its heading, "Chapter 418: Automated Traffic Control Photographic System (Repealed)," with an editor's note recording that City Council repealed it by Ordinance O2016-36, passed October 18, 2016. No section of Chapter 418 survives to quote, and no successor camera ordinance has been enacted to replace it in the years since.

That leaves Middletown, Ohio without any local mechanism for issuing a citation by mail based on a photograph or video of a vehicle running a red light or speeding. 02, the same baseline every other chapter in Title Four cross-references when it does not set its own penalty for curfew, right-of-way, sidewalk-driving, or bicycle and electric-bicycle violations.
