Full Breakdown

Under the Township's noise ordinance, sounding or permitting the sounding of an exterior burglar alarm on a motor vehicle is a prohibited noise disturbance unless the alarm terminates within 15 minutes of being triggered. Any vehicle equipped with a burglar alarm must prominently display the telephone number where the owner can be reached. The Police Department of the Township of Brick enforces this provision.

Violations & Fines

Violation is enforceable by summons and complaint under the noise chapter's general enforcement provisions; for non-motor-vehicle noise sources officers may first issue a 24-hour written notice to abate, but this alternative does not apply to a vehicle on a public right-of-way.
