Kissimmee's noise ordinance (ch. 22, art. II) names power generators as an example of "continuous noise", sound present for more than 15 minutes. Continuous noise from a generator is subject to the maximum decibel levels set in section 22-24: 60 dBA by day / 55 dBA at night at a residential property line, 70/65 dBA for office or commercial, and higher for industrial or the Downtown CRA. Gas-powered equipment, however, is exempt from these limits between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., meaning a gas generator can run louder during the day but must meet the standard decibel caps at night. The Code Enforcement Division and Kissimmee Police Department jointly enforce the ordinance.
