City Code § 131.06 bars any source premises from emitting noise that persistently or continuously exceeds the zoning district's decibel ceiling, measured at the property line. For Residential Zoned Districts, Table 1 caps A-weighted sound at 55 dB(A) daytime and 50 dB(A) nighttime; Table 2 sets the C-weighted cap at 60 dB(A) daytime and 55 dB(A) nighttime. A fixed mechanical source such as an air conditioner or heat pump condenser is measured the same as any other source premises: the ordinance sets no separate HVAC-specific number, only this general performance standard by zoning district. 'Persistently or continuously' means the sound exceeds the limit in each one-minute interval of a ten-minute period.
