Bergenfield prohibits operating radios, musical instruments, televisions, phonographs, drums, or other sound-reproduction devices at volumes creating a noise disturbance.
Chapter 215 of the Borough Code makes it unlawful to operate or permit the use of any radio receiving set, musical instrument, television, phonograph, drum, or other device for production or reproduction of sound in such a manner or volume that it causes a noise disturbance. The rule applies on private property, in vehicles, and in public spaces throughout the Borough. Bergenfield Police enforce the provision and may issue a written 24-hour abatement notice or proceed directly to a summons for repeat or motor-vehicle-based offenses.
