The town manager may authorize variance for special events, extending the permitted time to midnight. In nonresidential districts, the same reasonable-person standard applies without specific time cutoffs. Outdoor music is specifically prohibited in parks, public places, and nonresidential districts without a town-approved special event permit or facility rental agreement. Vehicle-mounted sound systems audible beyond 50 feet or creating vibrations detectable at 25 feet are also prohibited when they unreasonably disturb neighbors. Signaling devices in residential areas are limited to five minutes per 60-minute period.
