regulates sound trucks, defined as any vehicle carrying sound amplifying equipment. m. The truck must be moving under 12 miles per hour whenever the equipment runs, and the equipment must shut off whenever the truck stops to make a sale. Sound cannot be broadcast within 100 yards of a hospital, within 100 yards of a church while services are underway, or within 500 feet of a school during the school year, and the amplified content cannot be profane, lewd, indecent or slanderous. The volume itself is capped so that it is not audible beyond 100 yards from the truck and cannot be unreasonably loud, raucous, jarring or disturbing to people within that range.

A sound truck cannot repeat the same route's amplified sound more than once in 24 hours, cannot stop within 25 feet of an intersection to sell, cannot double-park, make a U-turn mid-block, back up to make a sale, or let anyone hang on or ride the vehicle besides a bona fide assistant, and it must run four-way flashers and parking or taillights while seeking or making a sale. Before ever switching on the amplifier, the operator must pay a $5 per-vehicle annual registration fee and file a written registration statement in duplicate with the City Clerk, listing the registrant, the person in direct charge, every operator, the sound truck's purpose, the general areas of the City where it will run, and the proposed hours and number of days of operation, all subject to City Manager and City Clerk approval.
