Barking dog rules in Pittsburg, CA — also called nuisance dog, dog noise, or excessive barking ordinances — define when a barking dog becomes a code violation and how complaints are handled.
Contra Costa County Noisy Animal Ordinance (Code §416-12.202) makes it unlawful to have an animal that creates noise for 30 continuous minutes (incessant) or 60 minutes off and on in 24 hours (intermittent). Responsible persons can be fined.
Under the CCC Noisy Animal Ordinance, any incessant or intermittent noise that causes a disturbance, including barking, howling, crying, or baying, violates the ordinance. The Department considers the extent and duration before issuing a Notice of Citation and Fine. The responsible person includes anyone with custody or control of property where the noisy animal is kept.
