Construction hours in Hollywood, FL β sometimes called construction noise rules or contractor work-hour ordinances β set when contractors can run power tools, hammers, and heavy equipment.
Hollywood's noise ordinance governs construction noise. All construction must obtain appropriate building permits. Construction activity that violates noise standards during quiet hours (11 PMβ6 AM) is subject to enforcement. Permits required for all construction.
Section 100.05 of the Hollywood Code of Ordinances restricts construction, alteration, repair, excavation, or demolition of any building or structure to specific hours. Monday through Friday, work may not begin before 7:00 AM or continue past 6:00 PM. Saturday work is permitted from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. No construction is allowed on Sundays. If an urgent necessity or emergency condition requires work outside these hours or on Sunday, a written request must be submitted to the City's Chief Building Official for approval. All construction equipment must use sound-control devices no less effective than factory-installed equipment.
Construction outside permitted hours: noise violation under Chapter 100. First violation $100, second within six months $500, third and subsequent $1,000 per occurrence.
