Construction hours in Littleton, CO β sometimes called construction noise rules or contractor work-hour ordinances β set when contractors can run power tools, hammers, and heavy equipment.
Littleton regulates construction noise through Title 7, Chapter 3 and Colorado state law CRS Section 25-12-103. Construction projects are subject to industrial-zone noise limits for the duration of valid construction permits. Waste disposal and refuse collection are prohibited between 7 PM and 7 AM.
Under Littleton's noise ordinance (Title 7, Ch. 3), construction projects are subject to the maximum permissible noise levels specified for industrial zones for the period within which construction is to be completed under any applicable construction permit. Colorado CRS Section 25-12-103 reinforces this standard. During daytime hours (7 AM-7 PM), noise levels may be increased by 10 dB(A) for a period not exceeding 15 minutes in any one-hour period. Section 7-3-5 specifically prohibits waste disposal, refuse loading and collection, and compacting equipment operation between 7 PM and 7 AM. Truck or rail loading within 250 feet of a residential lot is prohibited between 10 PM and 7 AM.
Noise ordinance violation: municipal citation and fine. Operating refuse equipment during restricted hours: separate violation.
