Rothschild, WI Noise Ordinances: Construction Hours (2026)

Section 422-21.E is a stand-alone rule inside the Village's noise article separate from the residential curfews on tools, mowers, vehicles and music in Subsection C. It applies to construction equipment across all zones in Rothschild, so a job site in a commercial or industrial district faces the same 6:00 a.m.-to-9:00 p.m. operating window as one next to housing. There is no separate weekend or holiday carve-out written into the text, meaning the same hours apply every day. One narrow statutory exception sits in § 422-21.I(3): emergency excavations, maintenance, or repairs of a public or private facility, including bridges, streets, highways, or buildings, are exempt even during hours of darkness. Enforcement is complaint-based and handled by the Rothschild Police Department, and a contractor or property owner who believes strict compliance creates a substantial hardship can seek an exemption from the Village Board under § 422-21.J by showing reasonable technological steps were taken to control the noise.
