Full Breakdown

The city's Noise Ordinance specifically prohibits construction noise. Erecting (including excavating), demolishing, altering, or repairing any building or premises, or excavating streets and highways, in or within 30 feet of any residence or residential zoning district, is a violation unless it occurs between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Outside that 14-hour daytime window, the noise is barred regardless of volume when a residence is that close. This sits within the same Macomb County city's general noise chapter that covers other specific prohibitions like shouting and vehicle noise.

Violations & Fines

Misdemeanor under the Code's general penalty: fine up to $500, up to 90 days imprisonment, or both.
