City of Neenah Municipal Code § 11-146.5 sets maximum decibel levels by zoning area and time of day. Residential, public-space, agricultural, and institutional areas are capped at 75 dBA from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 65 dBA from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and 60 dBA from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Commercial and industrial areas are capped at 75 dBA daytime and 70 dBA from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Entertainment areas are capped at 75 dBA from 2:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and 70 dBA the rest of the day. Adopted by Ord. No. 2019-14, § 4 (6-19-2019).

Violations & Fines

Exceeding the zone's decibel cap is a per se noise violation: forfeiture of $10 to $500 first offense, $25 to $1,000 for repeats, under § 1-20.
