Construction noise is town-regulated and typically limited to 7 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays.
Conn. Gen. Stat. Sec. 22a-74 makes a noise control violation an infraction; willful violations are punishable by a fine up to $100 per day under Sec. 22a-69-7.10 and Sec. 22a-74. Hartford, West Hartford, Manchester, New Britain, Bristol, and East Hartford each enforce their own ordinances through municipal fines, citation tickets, and cease-and-desist orders. There is no county-level noise enforcement because Hartford County has no operational government.
