Quiet hours in St. Lucie County, FL — also called the noise ordinance, nighttime noise rules, or residential quiet time — define the hours during which excessive noise is prohibited.
Unincorporated St. Lucie County caps residential sound at 60 dBA from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 55 dBA from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. at the receiving property line (Code § 28-110). Port St. Lucie separately bars amplified sound in residential areas from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Article V of Chapter 28 (Noise Control) governs the unincorporated county. Sec. 28-110 makes it unlawful to operate any sound source exceeding 60 dBA (daytime) or 55 dBA (nighttime) measured at the real property line of the nearest receiving residential property, using the slow response setting. Multifamily dwellings drop to 50 dBA day / 40 dBA night measured from a neighbor's unit; mixed-use buildings to 55/45. In incorporated Port St. Lucie, Chapter 94 sets Table I limits and Sec. 94.06(c) bars loudspeakers and amplifiers within or adjacent to residential areas from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays and 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. on weekends and holidays when plainly audible across the property line.
County violations are enforced by code compliance and the Sheriff under Code § 1-7. Port St. Lucie fines escalate: $50 first offense, $250 second, then a second-degree misdemeanor ($500 and/or up to 60 days).
