Construction noise is town-regulated and typically limited to 7 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays.
Conn. Gen. Stat. Sec. 22a-74 makes a noise control violation an infraction; willful violations are punishable by a fine up to $100 per day under Sec. 22a-69-7.10 and Sec. 22a-74. Towns enforce their own ordinances through municipal fines and cease-and-desist orders. There is no county-level noise enforcement because Fairfield County has no operational government.
