Full Breakdown

Sec. 86-103 makes it unlawful to operate a vehicle's radio, stereo, or CD/cassette player so it's audible 30 or more feet from the vehicle, or so its bass vibration can be felt outside the vehicle. The same section bars discharging engine exhaust except through a properly installed muffler that prevents loud or explosive noise, and bars continued or frequent horn honking except as a danger signal. The city attorney enforces the article within city limits and 5,000 feet beyond them.

Violations & Fines

Class C misdemeanor plus civil penalty up to $1,000.00 per day; city attorney may also seek abatement.
