Section 27-293 of the Land Development Regulations governs all outdoor lighting. Light must be aimed at the ground, a vehicular use area, a building entrance, walkway or sign; lighting designed to illuminate a building elevation or roof area is prohibited. A photometric site lighting plan must be prepared by a registered professional engineer and submitted with the site plan. Multi-family, shopping centers and office buildings must light parking and pedestrian areas to a minimum maintained average of 1.0 footcandle, with no area below 0.5. Spillover may not exceed 0.5 footcandles at the property line, and no point in a vehicular use area may exceed 15. Poles are capped at 25 feet for non-cut-off luminaires, 30 feet for cut-off.
