Section 4-4-2.B.1 of the Broken Arrow Zoning Ordinance sets the 'fixture height standard' compliance method for exterior lighting, including security and wall-pack fixtures on commercial, industrial, and multi-family sites: every fixture must be shielded and mounted parallel to final grade so no direct light shines past the property line, with pole height reviewed at site plan submittal. Companion standards in the same section cap fixture height at 16 feet within 50 feet of an agricultural or residential district, 20 feet between 51 and 250 feet, and 35 feet beyond that, with a citywide 35-foot ceiling. Single-family and duplex homes are exempt, so a homeowner's own floodlight isn't covered, only lighting tied to a commercial, institutional, or multi-family site plan.
