Metro Code Β§12.40.120 allows removal of vehicles parked on public streets over 72 hours. Inoperable vehicles on private property must be enclosed or screened under Β§17.12.080. TN Β§55-16-104 governs abandoned vehicle towing.
Under Metro Code Β§12.40.120, a vehicle left on a public street more than 72 hours in the same spot is subject to marking and towing. On private property, Metro Β§17.12.080 (Outdoor Storage) prohibits storing inoperable or unlicensed vehicles in view from a public right-of-way; vehicles must be in an enclosed garage, behind an opaque fence of sufficient height, or actively under repair with evidence. Tennessee Code Β§55-16-104 through Β§55-16-112 provides the state abandoned-vehicle framework including titled notice to the registered owner before sale. Reports are filed through hubNashville (311). MNPD or Codes issues the tow.
Street: 72-hour tag then tow at owner expense (typical tow $150-$300 plus $25-$45/day storage). Private property: Codes citation $50 with 10-day cure period before escalation.
