Metropolitan Code § 12.40.180 defines a "large vehicle" as any commercial, oversized or heavy-duty vehicle rated USDOT Class 4 or higher: box trucks, semi-trailers, tractors, dump trucks, tank trucks, mobile vending units, and attached trailers rated Class 3 or up. Daytime standing in the right-of-way can be authorized by an NDOT permit, but subsection B.2 flatly bans overnight parking by these vehicles anywhere in the public right-of-way, across the whole Metro Nashville and Davidson County service area. The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure and Metro police both enforce it.
