C. 1981, targets commercial trucks and other commercial vehicles left on residential streets overnight rather than in off-street lots. The ban covers every residential and public zoning district named in the code: RR-1, RR-2, RE, RL-1, RL-2, RM-1, RM-2, RM-3, RMX-1, RMX-2, RH-1 through RH-7, MH, P, and A. violates the section, regardless of whether the vehicle is otherwise legally registered or attended. The penalty schedule escalates by count rather than resetting each night: a first ticket costs $40, a second ticket against the same vehicle or the same registered owner costs $50, and a third or later ticket costs $60, on top of the $15 late fee under Section 7-6-3 if the fine goes unpaid within 14 days of issuance.

C. 1981. The section is distinct from the neighboring rule at Subsection 7-6-24(b), which separately caps how long campers, motor homes, and trailers can sit on a city street, at 48 consecutive hours at the owner's own street frontage or under a city-manager permit. Commercial-vehicle owners who need extended overnight street parking have no comparable permit route under Subsection (a) itself. The ordinance has been amended repeatedly, most recently by Ordinance No. 8651 in 2025, to keep the zoning district list current with Boulder's residential zoning renumbering.
