Jacksonville, FL Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Ordinance Code Sec. 656.411 bars heavy trucks, truck tractors, box trucks, step-vans, moving vans, delivery trucks, dump trucks, tow trucks, flat-bed trucks, buses, cranes, and similar vehicles or equipment from parking on private property in a residential district (except Residential Rural-Acre) or in the CO, CRO, RO, CCG-1 or CN districts, and from parking on any public right-of-way in those districts. The only exceptions are normal loading/unloading and the time needed for service calls at a dwelling or permitted structure. A 'heavy truck' is defined as any vehicle over 10,000 pounds gross scale weight registered under F.S. § 320.08(4). Ordinary cars, station wagons, passenger vans, and pickup trucks (even with toppers, racks, or winches) are excluded and remain fine to park.
