Joliet Code of Ordinances Section 19-150 prohibits parking any truck with gross vehicle weight in excess of 8,000 pounds, or any semitrailer, trailer, pole trailer, or bus on city streets, highways, or alleys except for active loading/unloading. The Joliet Zoning Ordinance further provides that outdoor storage of commercial vehicles including semi-trucks (cabs and trailers), or any wheeled apparatus having more than two axles or a gross weight in excess of 5,000 pounds, is not considered a permitted accessory use and is not permitted in any residential zoning district. School buses may not be parked in residential areas between 4:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Incidental maintenance not exceeding 72 consecutive hours in duration is permitted.
