Jonesboro, AR Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Sec. 66-192(a) sets the core rule: no motor truck, trailer or semitrailer regularly and commonly rated at three-quarter ton or more load capacity may be parked on any street or alley within the corporate limits between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m., and such a vehicle may not be parked on the street right-of-way at all during that window; it must be parked wholly on private property. Two additional street-specific curfews sit in the same section: subsection (b) bars parking any vehicle on either side of Main Street from the railroad tracks south to Jefferson Avenue between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., and subsection (c) applies the same 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. window to Matthews Avenue between Main Street and Carson Street.

Subsection (d) separately repeats the citywide ban, found elsewhere in Sec. 66-191, on parking any vehicle on a street, right-of-way or public lot to display it for sale or rent, or for longer than five minutes while peddling merchandise from it. The section derives from Ord. No. 976, §§ 1-4, and its own penalty clause in subsection (e) supersedes the chapter's general $500.00 cap for this division specifically.
