St. Peters, MO Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Section 365.070(A)(2), Parking Requirements For Commercial Vehicles, bars parking any commercial vehicle or commercial trailer, both defined in Section 300.010, within a residentially zoned district or on streets and roadways within a commercially zoned district. Section 300.010 defines a commercial vehicle as any motor vehicle exceeding 24 feet in length, 8 feet in height or 8 feet in width, and a commercial trailer as one prominently labeled with commercial advertisement or carrying commercial equipment in plain view. The only carve-out lets a covered vehicle park temporarily while actively loading, unloading, or providing a service or delivery to a residential dwelling or a commercial business, capped at 12 hours in the aggregate in any 24-hour period; the restriction does not reach industrially zoned districts at all.

A related limit in Subsection (A)(3) caps ordinary business vehicles, tagged with a company name or visible work equipment, at the same 12-hour aggregate on a residential street, and allows only one such vehicle on a residential driveway. Subsection (B) lets a commercial or business vehicle exceeding these limits be stored instead in a completely enclosed garage, subject to the Chief of Police's authority to bar it anyway if it disrupts the residential character of the area through noise, fumes or traffic hazards. Public vehicles such as fire, police or ambulance units are exempt from the whole Section under Subsection (C). St. Peters Police Department and Neighborhood Preservation enforce this limit.
