St. Peters, MO Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Section 360.010 gives the City Traffic Engineer authority to locate passenger and freight curb loading zones and to post signs stating the hours each zone is in effect. Section 360.020 lets a property owner or vehicle owner apply for a permit to establish a private curb loading zone, paying a $10.00 annual service fee per year or fraction of a year and covering the cost of the required signs if lost or damaged; the permit expires after one year. Once a zone is posted, Section 360.030 caps standing in a passenger curb loading zone at three minutes, and only while actually loading or unloading passengers; any other use, or staying longer, is unlawful during the zone's posted hours.

Section 360.040 applies the same actual-use limit to freight curb loading zones without a fixed time cap, covering only the expeditious pickup, delivery or loading of materials. The chapter separately lets the Traffic Engineer designate bus stops, bus stands and taxicab stands under Section 360.050, and Section 360.070 bars any vehicle other than the designated bus or taxicab from standing in those reserved spaces, except a passenger vehicle stopping briefly to load or unload. St. Peters Police Department enforces these zones, and because Chapter 360 sets no fine of its own, a violation defaults to the City's general penalty in Section 100.060.
