St. Peters, MO Parking Rules: Driveway Rules (2026)

Section 365.070(A)(1), General Parking Requirements, requires that all licensed vehicles, including recreational vehicles and trailers parked on a lot, be on a paved parking area or driveway. The Code defines an acceptable paved surface as concrete, asphalt, brick, interlocking pavers or another surface the City Engineer or a designee approves, and that surface must stay free of grass and weed growth and extend the full length and width of the vehicle parked on it, so a truck or trailer cannot overhang onto bare dirt or lawn.

The same subsection separately requires that any equipment or materials stored on or in a parked vehicle be completely screened from public view, except ladders, which must be secured on a rack. These paved-surface rules feed directly into the vehicle-specific limits later in the same Section: recreational vehicles, equipment and trailers must also sit on this paved surface under Subsection (A)(4)(b), and commercial or business vehicles permitted on a driveway are held to the same paving standard.
