Pinellas Park requires driveways and on-site parking surfaces to be paved with a durable, inorganic material under Land Development Code Section 18-1532. Parking on grass or unimproved surfaces in residential zones is prohibited.
Section 18-1532 of the Land Development Code requires that off-street parking spaces serving residential dwellings be located on an approved, durable surface such as concrete, asphalt, brick, or paver. Vehicles cannot be regularly parked on lawns or other landscaped areas. Driveway widths, materials, and connection to the right-of-way are also addressed in Article 5 driveway design standards. Any expansion or new driveway typically requires review by the Community Development Department and a right-of-way permit when the work affects the public right-of-way. Compliance is enforced by Code Compliance.
Notice of violation, daily fines, and required restoration to a compliant surface. Continued violations may go before the Special Magistrate for monetary penalties.
