Rialto Municipal Code Title 18 (Zoning) restricts vehicle parking in residential front yards and on unpaved surfaces. Vehicles in single-family residential zones must be parked on a paved driveway or approved parking surface, not on lawn, dirt, or landscaped areas. CVC §22500(f) also prohibits blocking a public sidewalk with a vehicle parked across a driveway apron.
Rialto's residential zoning standards in Title 18 (Ch. 18.06 Zone Districts and Ch. 18.61 Design Guidelines) require off-street parking to be located on a paved, all-weather surface (concrete, asphalt, or pavers) connected to a legal driveway. Parking on the front lawn, side-yard landscaping, or dirt is a Code Compliance violation. CVC §22500(f) prohibits stopping, standing, or parking in front of any public or private driveway in a way that obstructs the sidewalk for pedestrians. The driveway apron between the curb and property line is a public-right-of-way encroachment, and a vehicle parked across it that overhangs the sidewalk is subject to citation and tow per CVC §22651(n). RVs, boats, and trailers stored on a residential driveway are subject to additional Title 18 size and setback limits.
Code Compliance Notice of Violation for parking on unpaved surface or landscaped front yard. CVC §22500(f) sidewalk-blocking citation (parking on driveway apron over sidewalk). Repeated violations may be cited as a public nuisance under Title 8.
