Sedona requires all residential parking and storage surfaces to be dust-free — concrete, pavers, asphalt, or 3-inch-thick crushed rock or aggregate. Parking on landscaped areas is prohibited.
For single-family and duplex dwellings, off-street parking for operable vehicles (not including RVs and buses) must be located in a garage or on a driveway. The dust-free surface rule applies regardless of vehicle type to control fugitive dust in this high-tourism, scenic area. Parking lots with more than 50 spaces must demonstrate ability to accommodate larger vehicles. New driveway construction also requires Engineering Department approval for access points and culvert installation.
Code enforcement notice. Noncompliant gravel/dirt surfaces must be upgraded.
