Full Breakdown

Winter Haven's off-street parking and driveway standards are in the Unified Land Development Code, Chapter 21, Article III, Division 3 (this division was repealed and reenacted in March 2018). Residential properties must park vehicles in a driveway, carport, garage, or parking lot; parking on the unimproved portion of the front yard is prohibited. The driveway portion within the public right-of-way must be asphalt, concrete, brick, or decorative pavers, while gravel, crushed stone, or grid pavers may be allowed inside the property line with engineering approval. Adding or widening a driveway connection requires Driveway Connection Approval from the Building Division.

Violations & Fines

Building or altering a driveway connection without approval, or parking on unimproved front-yard grass, is a Chapter 21 violation enforced through Code Compliance and the Special Magistrate under F.S. Ch. 162.
