Bradenton, FL Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Section 50-38 is the curb rule for the City of Bradenton, and § 50-37 gives the city administrator or designee the power to mark off loading zones, taxistands, bus stops and safety zones. Those determinations are made in writing and kept in the city administrator or designee's office, open to the public, with the same force as the ordinance text.

There are two kinds of zone. In a marked passenger curb loading zone, no one can stop, stand or park for any purpose or period other than the expeditious loading or unloading of passengers during the hours the zone rules are effective. In a marked freight curb loading zone, no one can stop, stand or park other than for the expeditious unloading and delivery or pickup and loading of materials. The signs state the hours the rule applies.

Subsection (h) adds the default that matters for delivery drivers: loading zones can be painted red or designated by sign, or both, and unless an applicable sign says otherwise, loading zone hours are 24 hours per day. It is unlawful to park in a loading zone while those provisions are in effect. Yellow is a different signal: no parking zones are marked by sign or by a yellow curb, and parking next to a yellow curb is unlawful.

Bus stops and taxicab stands follow their own rules. Only a bus can use a designated bus stop and only a taxicab can use a taxicab stand, except that a passenger vehicle can temporarily stop to load or unload passengers when it does not interfere with a bus or taxicab waiting to enter or about to enter the zone. Stopping on any sidewalk is unlawful under subsection (i). Section 50-36(5) adds that a vehicle over 25 feet in length can occupy a designated parking space only for emergency breakdowns and for unloading or loading purposes.
