Bradenton, FL Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Street parking in the City of Bradenton is governed by Article II of Chapter 50, with towing authority in § 50-2 and fines in § 50-39. Section 50-36 makes it unlawful for a driver, or a registered owner who permits it, to leave a vehicle in a metered or unmetered space longer than the signs or meters allow, on a public street for a continuous length of time in excess of 48 hours, or in a city off-street parking lot in excess of 48 hours. It also bars vehicles over 25 feet in length in designated spaces except for emergency breakdowns and loading or unloading, displaying a vehicle for sale or advertising, washing, greasing or repairing a vehicle other than an emergency repair, and storing a vehicle as junk or dead storage for more than 24 hours. In angle parking a driver cannot back in, every vehicle must sit wholly within a marked space, and an electric vehicle charging space is for charging only.

Blocking a driveway is handled through towing. Section 50-2 authorizes Bradenton police officers to remove a vehicle left unattended on a sidewalk, in front of a public or private driveway, within six feet of a fire hydrant, within an intersection or in a crosswalk. Where signs are posted, the same power covers a spot within 20 feet of a fire station driveway entrance, or opposite the entrance within 70 feet. A vehicle left on a street or in a city lot longer than 24 hours in the downtown fire district, or 48 hours in any other district, can also be removed.

Metered spaces run from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. under § 50-57, and § 50-58(c) bans feeding meters. Under § 50-59 the city chalks tires, and erasing a chalk mark is unlawful. Section 50-1 adopts the Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law for the rest of the traffic rules.
