Full Breakdown

Flint's loading zones are created by permit application to the Traffic Engineer under § 28-78, who may grant, limit or withdraw them at his discretion. Under § 28-79, non-commercial vehicles may use a loading zone only to drop off or pick up passengers without blocking a commercial vehicle, and a commercially licensed vehicle may stop there only to load or unload merchandise: capped at thirty minutes. Zones are marked by City-installed signs paid for through a non-refundable service fee.

Violations & Fines

Exceeding the 30-minute limit or misusing a loading zone is a parking violation enforceable by the Flint Police Department; vehicles are subject to ticketing under the City's general parking-enforcement provisions.
