Sec. 9.76. - Off-street loading area requirements. (a)General. On the same premises with every building, or part thereof, erected and occupied for manufacturing, storage, warehouse, goods display, department store, wholesale store, market, hotel, hospital, mortuary, laundry, dry cleaning, or other uses similarly involving the receipt or distribution of vehicles, materials or merchandise, there shall be provided and maintained on the lot adequate space for standing, loading and unloading service vehicles... (e)Loading areas adjacent to residential property. When designated loading areas or other vehicular use areas used for loading/unloading, staging or queuing of vehicles abut residentially zoned or used property, no parking, loading or unloading of vehicles shall occur between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Temporary parking of such vehicles may occur on-site during these hours in areas adjacent to public right-of-way and which are at least 250 feet from any residentially zoned or used property(s).

Sec. 76(a) requires manufacturing, storage, warehouse, goods display, department store, wholesale, market, hotel, hospital, mortuary, laundry and dry cleaning uses, or any similar use that receives or distributes vehicles, materials or merchandise, to provide and maintain adequate on-site space for standing, loading and unloading service vehicles, so trucks do not interfere with public streets, alleys or off-street parking access aisles. Sec. 76(c) sets the minimum bay at 14 feet wide by 25 feet long with 15-foot height clearance, rising to 14 by 50 feet for individual businesses over 30,000 square feet, and requires the bays to be paved.
The number of spaces scales with gross floor area: none under 5,000 square feet, one space from 5,000 to 19,999 square feet, one space plus one per additional 40,000 square feet up to 99,999 square feet, three spaces plus one per additional 60,000 square feet up to 399,999 square feet, and eight spaces plus one per additional 80,000 square feet above 400,000 square feet.
