Arcadia, CA Parking Rules: Overnight Parking (2026)

The early morning ban is written three ways. Section 11.9 (§ 3214.1) prohibits parking any vehicle of a maximum gross weight of six thousand (6,000) pounds or less on any street between 2:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on any day. Section 11.9.1 (§ 3214.1.1) applies the same hours to vehicles over 6,000 pounds, and Section 11.9.2 (§ 3214.1.2) extends them to public parking lots and City or Redevelopment Agency owned property. Section 11.21 (§ 3214.13) separately prints a 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. prohibition on city streets except by temporary or annual parking permit.

Section 11.10 exempts emergency vehicles and any vehicle with a valid temporary or annual all night street parking permit. Temporary permits come from a self-service vending machine at the Police Department for $3.00 per night. They have no night limit for passenger cars and commercial vehicles under 6,000 pounds, are not valid for commercial vehicles over 6,000 pounds, and cover recreational vehicles or trailers only with prior Chief of Police approval for not more than three (3) consecutive days and fifteen (15) days per calendar year.

Annual permits require an application to the City Treasurer stating that no parking space is available or obtainable on the residence property. The fee is $84.00, reduced by $7.00 for each month of the calendar year already elapsed, with a minimum three (3) month permit and a $1.00 transfer fee for a replacement vehicle. Permits go only to vehicles not over seven (7) feet wide, seven (7) feet high or 6,000 pounds, expire at midnight on the last day of the year, and must be affixed to the left side of the rear bumper or the lowermost five-inch corner of the driver's side rear window.
