Arcadia, CA Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Street parking in the City of Arcadia, California is governed by the Uniform Traffic Ordinance, adopted by reference in § 3211. The Police Department traffic division enforces it, and the City Traffic Engineer, an office in the Development Services Department, places and maintains signs and traffic control devices. Section 10.10 (§ 3213.5) requires anyone who leaves a vehicle unattended on a grade exceeding three percent (3%) to block the wheels by turning them against the curb or by other lawful means. The Chief of Police can issue an exemption for a vehicle equipped with a special braking system authorized and recommended by the California Highway Patrol, but that permit is void if the brake locking device is not in the "on" position or the vehicle lacks a current Official Brake Adjustment Certificate.
