Overnight on-street parking is generally allowed in residential areas subject to the 72-hour limit. Commercial vehicles prohibited overnight. Trailhead lots have posted closing times.
Oro Valley does not impose a blanket ban on overnight street parking in residential neighborhoods. Passenger vehicles may remain parked on-street overnight provided they comply with general parking restrictions (not blocking hydrants, driveways, or reducing lane width below 20 feet) and the 72-hour stationary vehicle rule. Commercial vehicles exceeding 10,000 pounds GVWR are prohibited from overnight parking on residential streets. Parking lots at Catalina State Park trailhead, Naranja Park, and other town facilities post closing times after which vehicles may be cited or towed. During monsoon season (June through September), vehicles parked in low-lying areas near desert washes face flood risk, and the town may temporarily restrict parking in flood-prone zones during storm events. HOAs in gated communities like Rancho Vistoso may prohibit overnight street parking entirely or limit it to a set number of consecutive nights. The Oro Valley Police Department patrols for vehicles parked in violation and responds to resident complaints.
Parking past posted facility hours: citation and possible towing. Commercial vehicle overnight in residential zone: citation with notice to remove. HOA violations: separate CC&R enforcement.
