Caldwell's Parking Regulations do not set a dedicated length or height limit for oversized vehicles on residential streets. Oversized RVs, trailers, and large trucks are instead governed by the 48-hour street rule (09-07-13), downtown time and overnight limits (09-07-12), no-parking markings (09-07-09), and the Idaho Code 49-660 stopping prohibitions.
Caldwell's Title 9, Article 7 Parking Regulations do not appear to contain a separate ordinance setting maximum vehicle length, height, or footprint for parking oversized vehicles on city streets. Large recreational vehicles, motor homes, campers, and trailers are addressed through City Code 09-07-13 (Improperly Parked Vehicles Generally), which prohibits parking these vehicles on the street except to load or unload, and then for no more than forty-eight (48) hours. Oversized vehicles in the Downtown Parking District must also comply with the three- and four-hour time limits and the 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. overnight permit requirement under 09-07-12. City Code 09-07-09 makes it unlawful to park against any painted no-parking curb, striped surface, or posted sign, which the city can use to restrict large-vehicle parking in specific locations. Where the city code is silent, Idaho Code 49-660 controls: it prohibits stopping, standing, or parking on sidewalks, in intersections, in crosswalks, in front of driveways, and within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, all of which constrain where a large vehicle can legally sit. Owners storing oversized vehicles on residential lots should also review zoning and accessory-use standards in Caldwell Title 10. A ticket may be issued and an obstructive oversized vehicle may be towed.
Oversized RVs, trailers, and trucks left on the street beyond 48 hours, parked against no-parking markings, exceeding downtown limits, or violating Idaho Code 49-660 may be ticketed to the owner and towed if they obstruct traffic, sidewalks, or driveways.
