Caldwell, ID Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Caldwell regulates loading and delivery areas through City Code 09-07-09 (Parking Prohibited; Markings or Signs Required). Wherever the city paints a curb, stripes a parking surface, or erects an appropriate sign on public property or a street, that marking or sign designates a restricted or no-parking area, and it is unlawful for any person to park a vehicle adjacent to such curbs or on the marked pavement. The same section makes it unlawful to park, or having parked to allow a vehicle to remain, in violation of the regulations of any duly installed parking sign or marking, which is the mechanism the city uses to create and enforce loading and delivery zones. In the Downtown Parking District, the loading allowance is tightly limited: under City Code 09-07-12, even though overnight parking between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. is prohibited without a permit, a vehicle or trailer may be parked for a period not to exceed thirty (30) minutes for the purposes of loading and/or unloading. The 48-hour street limit for RVs and trailers in 09-07-13 is also framed around loading and unloading. Commercial operators making deliveries should observe all posted loading-zone signage and time limits. Violations are enforced by ticket to the registered owner, and obstructive vehicles may be towed.
