Redondo Beach Municipal Code Title 3, Chapter 7, Article 21 prohibits oversized vehicles from city streets and parking lots between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. without a permit. An oversized vehicle is any vehicle or combination 22 feet or longer, or 8 feet high and 7 feet wide.
RBMC 3-7.2101 defines an oversized vehicle as any motorized vehicle, or combination of motorized and non-motorized vehicles or a trailer, meeting or exceeding 22 feet in length, and/or the combination of 8 feet in height and 7 feet in width. RBMC 3-7.2102 prohibits such vehicles from city streets and lots between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. unless authorized. Residents may apply for an overnight permit under RBMC 3-7.2106 to park adjacent to their residence, or within 400 feet when the adjacent curb is unavailable; permits are capped at six monthly and sixty yearly (Tuesday–Friday). Visitors may obtain three seven-day permits annually. Holders must still observe street-sweeping (3-7.1308) and preferential-parking rules, and may not sleep in the vehicle.
An oversized vehicle on a city street or lot between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. without a permit violates RBMC 3-7.2102 and may be cited and towed. Permit conditions are enforced under RBMC 3-7.2106.
