No person using public transportation services shall park a vehicle on any residential street. No person shall park a vehicle on the following streets unless an appropriate and current parking permit as issued by the Township is displayed on said vehicle: Amherst Avenue, Basin Road, Boxwood Avenue, Bucknell Avenue, Carlisle Avenue, Evelyn Avenue, Lehigh Avenue (also known as South Lehigh Avenue), Princeton Avenue, Rutgers Avenue, Sandalwood Avenue, Trinity Avenue, Vetterlein Avenue. Upon conviction of violating this section, the following penalties shall apply: $100 first offense; $200 second offense; $500 each subsequent offense.

Added January 17, 2006 by Ordinance No. 06-005 and amended October 1, 2013 by Ordinance No. 13-039, § 485-16 does two things. Subsection A stops commuters who ride public transportation from parking on any residential street to catch a bus or train. Subsection B goes further on a named list of streets, Amherst Avenue, Basin Road, Boxwood Avenue, Bucknell Avenue, Carlisle Avenue, Evelyn Avenue, Lehigh Avenue (also called South Lehigh Avenue), Princeton Avenue, Rutgers Avenue, Sandalwood Avenue, Trinity Avenue, and Vetterlein Avenue, where no vehicle at all may park without a current Township-issued permit displayed.
Section 485-17, added under the same 2006 ordinance and amended May 6, 2014 by Ordinance No. 14-023, extends the same permit-or-no-parking rule to a second roster of streets, including Adella Avenue, Rosalia Avenue, and Victor Avenue, plus seasonal permit streets such as Clearview, Fairlawn, and Ferndale Avenues that run permit-only from March 1 through October 31 each year. Both sections carry an identical, escalating penalty schedule, added to § 485-17 September 16, 2014 by Ordinance No. 14-053 and already present in § 485-16: $100 for a first offense, $200 for a second, and $500 for each offense after that. The Township issues the permits and its police enforce the display requirement on patrol.
